DC combiner for the complete range of your solar PV projects.

KACO new energy uses combiner boxes to support you with very flexible system design. First and foremost, DC combiners enable the "Virtual Central" concept:

In ground-mounted solar power plants, the inverters are installed at a central location, while the DC combiners are spread across the PV module array. This leads to short cable runs between the inverters and the transformer and means that there is only minimal loss of power on the AC side: The high efficiency of our inverters can be deployed to its fullest. In commercial and industrial PV systems, this kind of design makes it possible to avoid AC lines on the roofs.

Customizable

There are various configuration options available, allowing you to adapt the combiner boxes to your specifications or the installation guidelines of the region of their application. For example, requirements for arc fault detection as well as the function for rapid shutdown or a "fireman's switch" for remote disconnection of the system can be implemented very practically. Those who follow the trend towards bifacial PV modules will find DC combiners particularly useful: They leave free choice to counter the higher currents with the appropriate fuses of 25 amperes and more.

Your benefits at a glance

Standard combiner boxes:

  • Designed for a DC system voltage of 1000 V to 1 500 V
  • Direct connection of the DC strings
  • String monitoring (optional)
  • Fuse protection on plus and minus side 20 A
  • Surge protection device type I + II
  • IEC 61439-2 compliant planning and construction
  • Flexible number of DC inputs
  • IP65 protection rating

Customized combiner boxes:

  • Designed for a DC system voltage of 1000 V to 1 500 V
  • Connection of the DC strings directly or via plug-in connector (e.g. MC4)
  • String monitoring, arc-fault detection, rapid shutdown / fireman's switch function
  • Fuse protection on plus and minus side depending on module type
  • Surge protection device type I + II
  • IEC 61439-2 compliant planning and construction
  • Flexible number of DC inputs
  • Due to the large number of project-specific DC combiners, we will compile the technical data after jointly evaluating your requirements.
