Industrial growth with clean energy.

Solar power drives the emerging South Asian economy.

Neckarsulm, 22. February 2017 – KACO new energy GmbH increases its presence in the Asian growth markets with a new Territory Manager. The inverter manufacturer predicts great potential for large PV systems and storage solutions in these markets.

Focus on South Asia: Andrew “Andy“ Walsh is new Territory Manager at KACO new energy.

In the past, industrial growth was based on the unlimited consumption of fossil fuels. This resulted in increasing environmental pollution in urban areas. One example of this was Europe in the age of industrialisation, when smog descended on towns and cities and on the respiratory tracts of their inhabitants. Even today, major industrial nations such as China are fighting a daily battle against pollution of the air caused by their immense consumption of fossil fuels.

One environmentally friendly solution – particularly in the sunny Asian economic regions – is a combination of photovoltaic systems and power storage facilities. KACO new energy, based in Neckarsulm, have many years of experience as specialists for both these technologies. Proven and reliable technology “Made in Germany” is predestined for use in countries making the transition to solar power.

And in order to offer comprehensive support and advice on the spot, KACO new energy is increasing its technical sales team in South Asia. Andrew Walsh, to date head of the UK branch office, will strengthen the presence of the company in the region as new Territory Manager. The main target markets include Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam.

“Developing these new markets for KACO new energy and building the brand is an exciting task,” says Andrew Walsh. “Our products are ideally suited to the special requirements and environmental conditions in these countries.”

While managing the UK and Ireland, Andrew Walsh played a major role in establishing storage technology on the markets there. He will now put this know-how to use in the developing solar markets, together with his extensive experience in the field of large-scale solar parks.

“These countries can benefit significantly from the sun by using state-of-the-art solar technology to reduce their dependence on imported fossil fuels and become less reliant on them. This will not only prevent the negative effects on the environment; economically, it is also more lucrative, since it minimises the financial burden incurred for the procurement of such fuels,” says Walsh.

With Andrew Walsh, KACO new energy will have an experienced inverter specialist in this region. He has held many executive positions in the photovoltaics industry and has had a decisive influence on shaping the market since the early 1990s. Prior to taking up his position at KACO new energy, he was General Manager of the Rooftop and Solar Car Parks Division of BELECTRIC UK, one of the largest and most advanced suppliers in the field of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) for solar parks. Before that, Andy was responsible for the introduction and management of the subsidiary of an inverter manufacturer in the United Kingdom.

With this background, he sees his priority as the development of large-scale solar parks in combination with power storage solutions, for which he sees vast potential. And he will maintain his contacts with his home country: he will remain responsible for supporting key account clients in the UK and Ireland.

About KACO new energy:

KACO new energy is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of inverters for grid feed-in of solar power. Its product range covers the full power spectrum, from systems designed for a single family home to those for solar parks that produce megawatts of electricity. Since 1999, KACO, based in Neckarsulm, Germany, has supplied inverters with a cumulative power output of nine gigawatts. KACO new energy is the first company in the photovoltaic industry to achieve CO2-neutral production. Our technology offering extends from grid- and battery-connected solar inverters to inverters for combined heat and power plants and concentrator modules, as well as energy storage systems for solar power systems. In 2014 the firm celebrated the 100th birthday of the original parent company that, at the end of the 1930s, was one of first ever inverter manufacturers. More at www.kaco-newenergy.com
